The program will explore 10 or more common estate planning issues that are frequently overlooked or mistaken. Topics covered will include: homestead planning issues, planning for portability and credit shelter trusts, the reciprocal trust doctrine, drafting deeds for estate planning, charitable planning and drafting discretionary clauses and powers of appointment. The program will invite planners to think about forms and drafting assumptions they make commonly and will encourage thinking about them in new ways.

Life Insurance Technical Manual & Case Studies is an update to and expansion of Mr. Tasciotti’s popular 2011 study session presentation. The curriculum is for non-insurance professional advisors who are called upon to make intelligent recommendations regarding their client’s life insurance. The study session will include a review and update of current technical issues, and case studies of import for planning professionals.
Daniel Tasciotti, CLU, ChFC, CPF™, AEP, MBA, is a veteran Miami estate planning professional, now in his twenty-fourth year of practice. Prior to starting his firm, he enjoyed a successful sixteen year career as a television journalist, winning the Emmy award for excellence in broadcast journalism.
Unlike typical life insurance agents who stumble into the industry, Dan began a focused and disciplined pursuit of his field while under contract at WCKT-WSVN-TV in Miami. During his first year in the life insurance business he earned the Connecticut Mutual President’s Honorary Award for sales achievement in the top one percent of his peer group.
During his twenty-four years of practice Dan has helped hundreds of Miami families and businesses with their long-term retirement and estate plans. He is well versed in investment, taxation, insurance, estate, and charitable gifting issues. His unique ability is in helping people achieve maximum financial potential with minimum risk.
He is a past president of the Estate Planning Council of Greater Miami, and is past president of the Children’s Resources Center for developmentally disabled pre-school children, where he has been active for more than twenty-five years.
In the life insurance industry Dan is recognized as an authority on life insurance technical and product design issues. His firm, Tasciotti Financial, serves clients in South Florida, as well as many former Miamians who have relocated throughout the country.
In his leisure time Dan enjoys singing with his four-part acapella barbershop quartet, and playing cocktail piano in a popular Miami Italian restaurant. He and his wife Jane have been happily married for thirty-five years. They have two children, Stephanie and J.D.
