Richard C. Milstein is a shareholder in the Miami office of the national law firm, Akerman Senterfitt, and served as statewide Chair of the firm's Private Client Services Group. His practice includes fiduciary litigation and administration (trust, guardianship and probate), elder law, family law, estate and health care planning issues, and sexual orientation issues. 

He received both his undergaduate degree, cum laude, and law degree from the University of Miami. He is admitted to practice before the Florida Supreme Court, United States Distrit Court for the Southern District of Florida (trial designation), federal appellate courts, and the United States Supreme Court. He is a certified mediator and is certified in elder law by The Florida Bar. 

As a member of the Florida Bar, Mr. Milstein has served as the Chair for the Elder Law Section and as the Chair of the Elder Law Certification Committee. He has also served on the Probate Law, Guardianship Law, and Probate and Guardianship Rules Committees, Supreme Court Commisison on Court Monitoring, Supreme Court Committee on Legal Needs of Children and many other national and statewide committees. Mr. Milstein is a fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel, a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, a member of the National College of Probate Judges, the Dade County Bar Association, Florida Association for Women Lawyers, Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers, and National Council for the Aging, Inc., as well as many other orgnaizations. Mr. Milstein was recently appointed to the American Bar Association Commission on the Law and Aging. 

Mr. Milstein has served as President of the Dade County Bar Association and the South Florida Inter-Professional Council. He is past chair of the Dade Cultural Alliance, past President of the University of Miami Law School Alumni Association and chaired the UM Dean's Circle for a decade, and is a past delegate of the House of Delegates of the American Association. In 1996 he was awarded the Tobias Simon Pro Bono Service Award by the Florida Supreme Court and the John Minor Wisdom Public Service and Professionalism Award among other professional and community honors over the years. Along with a host of committee chairmanships for Bar and civic organizations, he is a frequent lecturer on guardianship, trust and probate matters, elder law, ethics, family law as well as sexual orientation issues around the state and nationally.

Datan Z. Dorot is the Managing Partner of Dorot & Bensimon PL and heads the Aventura office of the firm. Born in Israel to an American mother, Datan moved to the Florida at age 14. Datan lives in North Miami Beach with his wife, son and three dogs.

Datan’s legal background encompasses a wide range of estate planning, business planning and taxation law –both domestic and international.

Datan has authored a number of tax related articles, which have been published in various legal journals. Datan is also a frequent lecturer on various international tax matters and estate planning. Datan has been awarded the prestigious 2009-2010 Tax Fellowship from the Tax Section of the Florida Bar and has been named as both “Rising Star”in the legal field by Super-Lawyer Magazine and “Up and Comer”in Florida Trend’s Legal Elite for years 2009-2011.

Datan is a member of the Tax Section of the Florida Bar and the Real Property Probate and Trust Law Section of the Florida Bar, as well as a member of STEP (Society of Trust and Estate Planners). Datan organizes the Miami Tax Lunch through the New Tax Lawyer Division of the Tax Section of the Florida Bar, which brings together over 50 tax and estate planning practitioners each month for a tax-related lecture by nationally recognized tax professionals. Datan serves on the Executive Committee of the Leadership Development Institute of the Greater Miami Jewish Federation.
