Speakers:
The presenters will discuss how trust assets can be vulnerable upon the divorce of a beneficiary and the estate planning steps that can be implemented to reduce the divorcing spouse’s access to trust assets. Ms. Karr will focus on the estate planning side of the presentation and will provide an overview of the various risks that can be mitigated in the event of a divorce through proper planning prior to the beneficiary’s marriage. Ms. Hernandez will focus on the divorce side of the presentation and will provide an overview of division of assets, marital and non-marital, in the event of divorce and the impact of estate planning to mitigate the risks upon divorce.
